Job summary

UPMC Carlisle is seeking a Patient Care Technician for their Inpatient Rehab Unit. This casual role involves assisting with ADLs, basic patient care, and documentation. Expect rotating shifts, weekend and holiday requirements as needed, and strong teamwork in a hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and healthcare training or enrollment in a related program, with solid communication skills and the ability to follow RN directions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Enrolment in PT/OT/PA/RN program or related healthcare training with at least one clinical rotation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient procedures and ADLs such as bathing, feeding, transporting, toileting, ambulating, turning and repositioning.
• Document in the medical record according to procedures; report equipment malfunctions.
• Support call lights, pass meal trays, transport patients, and adhere to safety policies.
• Provide feedback to the RN regarding patient care and changes in patient status.
• Demonstrate effective communication with patients, families, and health care team.
