UPMC Carlisle in Carlisle, PA is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Inpatient Rehab Unit on a casual, rotating-shift schedule. You will assist with ADLs, patient procedures, documentation, and basic care under the RN.

The role emphasizes communication with patients and families, adherence to safety policies, and collaboration with the health care team. Experience level varies and starting pay depends on years of experience.

Formación

• Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
• Assures equipment malfunctions are reported to the appropriate department.
• Establishes effective communication with patients, families, colleagues and other departments.
• Documents in the medical record according to established procedures.
• Provides feedback to the RN regarding patient care and status changes.

Responsabilidades

• Performs patient care duties including ADLs such as bathing, feeding, transporting and turning.
• Assists with patient procedures and activities of daily living under RN direction.
• Responds to call lights, passes meal trays and transports patients as part of universal unit activities.
• Maintains safety policies and procedures relative to patient care and hospital information.
• Possesses competency in additional skills (IV removal, catheter removal, basic arrythmia tasks) as needed.
