Job summary

UPMC Williamsport is seeking a Full-Time Patient Care Technician for the 4W/5W Rehab Unit. You will contribute to patient care, assist with ADLs, and support nursing staff in therapies and monitoring, with shift coverage for evenings/nights.

The role requires performing core nursing assistant duties and at least select advanced tasks, maintaining patient safety and accurate documentation. Applicants will join a collaborative health-care team on the Rehab unit.

Qualifications

• Provides patient care including assisting with patient procedures and activities of daily living under RN supervision.
• Performs UPMC nursing core assistant responsibilities (blood glucose, weights, vital signs, I&O, specimen collections and Foley care) and at least four of the following tasks: phlebotomy, 12 lead EKG, simple dressing, Foley catheter removal, point of care testing, bladder scan, straight catheter, or IV catheter removal.
• Maintains professional and respectful interpersonal relationships and communicates changes in patient status to the RN.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care including assisting with patient procedures and activities of daily living.
• Assists with nursing core responsibilities and additional identified tasks taking patient vitals and specimens.
• Documents in the medical record according to established procedures and reports equipment malfunctions.
