Job summary

The JFK ADATC Peer Support Specialist facilitates psychoeducational groups for patients with substance use and co-occurring disorders, delivering sessions up to three times daily, including evenings and weekends. You will document attendance in the electronic health record and work with a multidisciplinary team.

You will create recovery-based curricula, maintain professional boundaries, and provide advocacy and support throughout the patient recovery journey in an inpatient setting at JFK ADATC.

Qualifications

• Experience facilitating psychoeducational groups for adults with substance use and/or mental health disorders.
• Ability to document client progress and group participation.
• Ability to communicate with clinical staff and community service providers in written and verbal form.
• Ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries in an inpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate psychoeducational groups/classes on MH/SUD topics up to three times daily, including evenings/weekends.
• Document group attendance and participation in the electronic health record system.
• Develop recovery-based curriculum and new group topics aligned with JFK patient activities.
• Support mentorship and emotional encouragement to patients and collaborate with clinical staff.
