Job summary

Navos is seeking a Mental Health Technician (MHT) for the Navos IP - Adult Inpatient Psychiatry unit on the 2nd Floor in Seattle, WA. The role focuses on creating a safe, supportive environment for psychiatric patients and assisting with basic care and recovery needs.

The position offers a Day Shift (07:00 - 19:30), 0.9 FTE (72 hours), and a schedule of 6 shifts per pay period. Navos emphasizes collaboration, ethics, and patient-centered care within a respectful team culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related human services field preferred; 1 year of experience may substitute education.
• Must obtain a Nursing Assistant Registered or CNA prior to start date.
• BLS certification required before starting at Navos Hospital; CPR certification may be required at other campuses.
• First Aid training required before starting.
• Food Handler's Card required within first two weeks of hire.
• WA State Counselor Agency Affiliated Registered (ACCR) credential must be applied for within 30 days of hire; may work while pending.

Responsibilities

• Support the unit with excellent patient service and clinic management assistance.
• Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, front office, and clinic management to ensure outcomes.
• Perform a variety of clinic functions using available standards, resources, and data.
• Advocate for ethical and holistic care respecting diverse backgrounds.
• Maintain a safe environment by observing patient behavior, conducting searches, reporting unsafe conditions, and providing support.
• Provide and document interventions in modalities matched to patient needs.
