Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare in Macon, GA is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Psychiatry Medical Director to lead Behavioral Health Services in an inpatient setting. The role includes primary oversight of inpatient, outpatient, and facility consults, with supervision of APPs.

This leadership position requires strong clinical and administrative skills, supervision of medical students and psychiatry residents, and collaboration across Piedmont facilities using the Epic EMR.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited institution.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry.
• Active or eligible for medical licensure in Georgia.
• Experience supervising APPs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Primary inpatient, outpatient, and facility consult oversight and coverage.
• Serve as Medical Director for Behavioral Health Services at Piedmont Macon.
• Expected schedule: 5 days (Mon- Fri), assist with weekend and night call as needed.
• Supervision of mid-levels (APPs).
• Opportunities to pick up additional shifts for consults via telehealth and/or in-person across the Piedmont system.
• Supervision of medical students and psychiatry residents.
