Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Medical Director - Behavioral Health Services to join our growing behavioral health team in Macon, Georgia. This is an in-patient position with oversight of primary inpatient, outpatient, and facility services.

The role includes supervising APPs, guiding clinical operations, and coordinating with psychiatry residents and medical students. Weekend/night call and telehealth consults across Piedmont are possible, with Epic EMR in use.

Qualifications

• MD/DO from an accredited institution.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry.
• Active or eligible for Georgia medical licensure.
• Three years of experience required.
• Experience supervising APPs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Primary inpatient, outpatient, and facility oversight.
• Serve as Medical Director for Behavioral Health Services at Piedmont Macon.
• 5-day workweek with weekend/night call as needed.
• Supervise mid-levels (APPs).
• Opportunity for telehealth or in-person consults across the Piedmont system.
• Supervision of medical students and psychiatry residents.
• Epic EMR used.
