Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health's Monmouth Medical Center is seeking a Psychiatric Social Worker (Per Diem, Day Shift) to deliver evaluative and inpatient mental health services to patients and families. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to develop treatment plans and provide compassionate care.

The role requires a BA/BS, MSW preferred, LSW or LCSW, and 1–12 months of related experience. Per diem schedule includes 12‑hour day shifts with rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's in Social Work or related field preferred.
• Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) required.
• 1 to 12 months of related human services experience; psychiatric inpatient setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluative and inpatient mental health services to patients and families.
• Participate as group facilitator for psychoeducational groups and other programs.
• Maintain accurate medical records, incident reports, and shift data per policy.
• Ensure safety and report hazards; assist in crisis intervention and restraints when required.
• Coordinate educational services and liaise with home school districts.
• Support admission and discharge procedures and transport patients for services.
