Job summary

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an accredited General Adult Psychiatry Residency.
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry.
• Eligible for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Prior inpatient experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated interest in leadership or program development is highly desirable.
• Experience with EPIC or similar electronic medical record systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for adult patients in an inpatient setting.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management and coordination of care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including nursing, social work, case management, and therapy staff.
• Participate in patient and family education to support treatment goals and continuity of care.
• Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and uphold standards for patient safety and clinical excellence.
• Support program development and participate in efforts to enhance behavioral health services.
• Demonstrate leadership potential through mentorship, collaboration, and participation in department initiatives, with the opportunity to advance into a Lead Physician role.

Compensation Range: $250,000.00 - $552,240.00 annually
