Job summary

RiverValley Behavioral Health seeks a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide psychiatric care to children and adolescents 4–17 at an 80-bed Children’s Hospital in Owensboro, KY. You will conduct evaluations, medication management, and create individualized treatment plans within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health.
• Current and valid PMHNP license in the state.
• National certification from ANCC as PMHNP.
• Experience preferred but not required in psychiatric/outpatient or behavioral health settings.
• Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications and treatment modalities.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations for children and adolescents 4–17.
• Diagnose mental health conditions and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide medication management and monitor treatment effectiveness.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team.
• Participate in treatment planning and team meetings.
• Monitor patient progress and share recommendations with the team.
• Educate patients and families about conditions and treatments.
• Maintain compliant clinical documentation.
• Engage in continuing education and professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
