Job summary

Mercy Health Rehabilitation Hospital, Youngstown is seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) to join our inpatient rehabilitation team. This full-time role supports enthusiastic patient care, supervises PT assistants, performs initial and ongoing assessments, and develops plans of care aligned with patient goals in a high-quality hospital setting.

You will work Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., hold an accredited PT degree with OH licensure, and complete BLS within 30 days of hire.

How you'll contribute

APhysical Therapistwho excels in this role:

• Supervises physical therapy assistants and aids in performing treatment.

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.

• Establishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires.

• Plans, prepares and carries out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in patients.

• Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.

• Administers treatment involving application of physical agents, using equipment, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program and a Physical Therapist license in OH. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) obtain within 30 days of hire

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
