Job summary

South Shore Health's SSH Inpatient Phlebotomy team is seeking a part-time phlebotomist in Weymouth, MA. You will perform venipuncture, fingerstick, and heelstick with patient safety and accurate labeling as priorities, following established procedures.

You will ensure proper specimen handling, confirmation of patient identity, and timely delivery to the laboratory. A high school education and 1 year of experience are preferred, with national Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Equivalent of four (4) years of high school education preferred.
• One (1) year of full time experience preferred.
• Certified or certified eligible with National Phlebotomy Association preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy (venipuncture, fingerstick, and heelstick) according to established procedure of South Shore Hospital.
• Identifies patients and properly labels specimen tubes.
• Prioritizes STAT draws and ensures timely transport to the laboratory.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety in phlebotomy areas and assists with training as needed.
