Job summary

PeaceHealth is seeking a Lab Assistant - Inpatient Phlebotomy for a Per Diem/Relief, Variable position. The role collaborates with the healthcare team to collect specimens, prepare and process tests, and support patient care in the laboratory environment.

Responsibilities include collecting and labeling specimens, data entry, handling specimens, and basic LIS usage. WA phlebotomy certification may be required; compensation ranges from $24.07 to $36.15 per hour depending on experience and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred or equivalent.
• Prior clinical laboratory experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy knowledge and basic LIS familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, deliver, and pick up items per health and safety regulations and lab policies to ensure specimen integrity and caregiver safety.
• Collect and label specimens; document and process per guidelines; perform data entry for demographics and tests.
• Handle, sort, process, and package specimens; assist lab staff and answer client questions regarding specimen requirements and results.
• Perform waived testing as assigned and recognize abnormal results per SOPs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
