Job summary

Edward Elmhurst Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the inpatient team at EDH Main Hospital in Naperville, IL. This full-time role (40 hrs/wk) operates 5am-1:30pm, Monday through Friday, with every other weekend and holiday rotations.

The phlebotomist collects, logs and labels specimens, performs pre-analytical processing, and enters orders in the LIS. Phlebotomy I requires a HS diploma, a recognized phlebotomy program (100 clinical hours), CPR, and a valid IL driver’s license with auto

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program with ≥100 clinical hours.
• Current CPR (BLS) issued by AHA/Red Cross.
• Valid Illinois driver’s license and auto insurance.
• For Phlebotomist II: minimum 1 year phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, collect, log and label specimens for testing under supervision.
• Perform pre-analytical processing and ordering of specimens arriving in the lab.
• Register patient information and order laboratory tests in the computer system.
• Arrange specimens for further processing by Laboratory staff.
