Job summary

MercyOne Clinton Medical Center is seeking an Inpatient Pharmacy Tech Trainee for a part-time, rotating shift. You will learn to assist Clinical Pharmacists with medication preparation, distribution, and inventory management under supervision. High school diploma and Iowa Board registration are required, with National Certification preferred.

The role involves handling IV admixtures, Pyxis restocking, and pharmacy operations support, with opportunities for growth within MercyOne Health System.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification required prior to trainee registration expiration date.
• Must be registered with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy prior to commencing employment.
• One to three years of previous pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Batch preparation and dose preparation.
• Maintain inventory and Pyxis system operations.
• Assist Pharmacist with filling orders and preparing traces/trays.
• Prepare intravenous admixtures and sterile preparations safely.
• Restock medications and IV dispensing areas.
• Enter charges and credits for patient medications accurately.

State Board Registration (Iowa)

National Pharmacy Technician Certification

Experience in Pharmacy setting (1-3 years preferred)
