Job summary

The Inpatient Rotational Pharmacy Technician is a highly trained technician responsible for coverage of a variety of complex positions in the inpatient pharmacy including but not limited to hazardous and nonhazardous sterile IV compounding, controlled substance dispensing, triaging phone calls, unit dose medication distribution, packaging of medication and operations of all Inpatient Pharmacy automated equipment.

Qualifications

• Education or Experience: None required.
• Certification: must pass national certification (PTCB/CPhT or ExCPT) for higher levels.
• English Language Proficiency: must be proficient in English.

Responsibilities

• Cover inpatient pharmacy including hazardous and nonhazardous sterile IV compounding.
• Dispose/dispense controlled substances.
• Triaging phone calls and unit-dose medication distribution.
• Packaging of medications and operation of inpatient pharmacy automated equipment.
