Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists with order processing, IV admixtures, chemotherapy, TPN and cardiac prep syringes, and inpatient medication deliveries. The role includes handling floor stock, inventory, answering phones, and ensuring timely delivery to nursing units.

Ideal candidates will have Florida licensure as a Pharmacy Technician, a High School diploma, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent preferred.
• Graduate of an approved pharmacy certification course preferred.
• Three years of hospital pharmacy technician experience preferred.
• Able to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Answers the phone according to departmental standards with excellent customer service.
• Prepares medications for inpatient use from stock and bulk supplies.
• Maintains active participation in Lean committee initiatives.
• Receives daily shipments and reports medication barcodes into the designated computer system.
• Assists with stocking, cleaning, and organizing the storage room.
