A leading healthcare provider is seeking an Operations Pharmacy Technician II in Parkersburg, WV. This role involves assisting with drug distribution and preparation tasks under the supervision of a pharmacist. Candidates should possess a high school diploma and the required pharmacy technician certification. The position is part-time with a dedicated commitment to maintaining high standards in medication handling and inventory management.
Assists in most aspects of drug distribution that do not require the professional judgment of a pharmacist. An Operations Pharmacy Technician II performs certain drug distribution and preparation tasks, including assisting in training Operations Pharmacy Technician I. Technicians operate under written procedures and guidelines, supervised by a pharmacist.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
Note: Maryland employees are exempt from certification requirements.
Responsible for preparing unit-dose medications, delivering medications, ordering supplies, reading prescriptions, preparing medications (including unique dosage forms), maintaining records, managing inventory, labeling products, performing calculations, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting in technician training. Certain duties are restricted to pharmacists by law, including receiving oral prescriptions, consulting with prescribers, and providing patient information.
Must be able to walk, stand, or sit for long periods; lift up to 30 pounds; push 50 pounds; and have dexterity for handling medications.
