Working with Te Toka Tumai Auckland offers you the chance to make a meaningful impact on the health and wellbeing of our Auckland community.

You will join the Medicines Supply and Logistics team at Auckland City Hospital, working in alignment with Te Toka Tumai Auckland’s values of respect, teamwork, and high achievement.

To be considered, you must hold a Level 5 NZQA Qualification for Pharmacy Technicians. Pharmacists with local or overseas qualifications should pursue registration with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand.

Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

Our Pharmacy department is innovative and dynamic, employing over 100 staff across retail and inpatient services, serving more than 1200 beds. We prioritize patient care, staff support, trust, respect, honesty, and accountability to deliver high-quality services.

This role involves dispensing and preparing various medicines, supplying controlled drugs, repacking, preparing Pyxis top-ups, working with compounded products including chemotherapy, and preparing Health Pac claims. You will work with experienced pharmacists and pharmacy staff, following all relevant legislation and standards. Training and ongoing support will be provided.

The ideal candidate is a NZQA Level 5 pharmacy technician, accurate, efficient, and aligned with our values. You should have good communication, interpersonal, time management, and computer skills. Preference will be given to those with at least one year of full-time NZ experience, recent hospital and clinical trials experience, aseptic compounding validation, proficiency with ePharmacy and Toniq, and experience with systems like Pyxis and Alpaca robot.
