Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a Pharmacy Technician Specialist, Inpatient, to support central operations, sterile compounding, and operating rooms under supervision of a pharmacist. You will prepare, formulate, and package medications and assist with inventory, quality assurance, and staff coordination.

The role requires a Rhode Island license, 2+ years of experience, strong computer skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred.
• Must hold Rhode Island Pharmacy Technician licensure and National Certification (CPhT).
• Minimum 2 years of pharmacy technician experience; 1 year in diverse healthcare environments.
• Must obtain IV and oncology credentialing within 2 months of hire and maintain semi-annually.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze operations in Central Operations, Central Sterile Compounding, and Operating Rooms.
• Coordinate technician activities and workflow; support workload distribution.
• Assist with sterile compounding of parenteral medications and IV solutions.
• Ensure compliance with USP 797/800 and NIOSH; maintain documentation of competencies.
