Job summary

Nebraska Medicine in Omaha is seeking an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician for a part-time night shift at Nebraska Medical Center. The role supports medication management across units and operating rooms, with emphasis on patient care and accuracy.

You will assist with sterile and non-sterile compounding and use EPIC for records. Qualifications include a Nebraska license/ intern status, high school diploma, and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age and high school education or equivalent.
• Licensed Nebraska pharmacy intern or registered as a pharmacy technician.
• Certification within twelve months if registered as a Pharmacy Technician.

Responsibilities

• Manage medication orders, receiving, sorting, and distributing for pharmacy, nursing units and OR.
• Provide excellent customer service and patient care; troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Create/use medication usage reports for inventory control; coordinate with providers.
• Receive orders, select drugs, prepare dosage forms; perform sterile and non-sterile compounding.
• Perform electronic medication history inquiries and medication reconciliation with patients/families.
• Calculate IV infusion due times and reorder as needed; collaborate with clinicians.
