Job summary
Penn Medicine in Lancaster, PA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support dispensing, charging and delivery of medications in patient care areas, under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. You will work with automation systems and manage packaging, storage and inventory to ensure safe, accurate operations.
The role requires a Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB) and hospital pharmacy experience; a high school diploma is required.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB) is required.
- National pharmacy technician certification required within nine (9) months of hire.
- H.S. Diploma or GED is required.
- ASHP accredited (or comparable) pharmacy technician training program preferred; equivalent accepted.
- Experience in Hospital Pharmacy Practice is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, assists with dispensing, charging and delivery of medications to patient care areas.
- Operates and maintains automation systems (packaging, dispensing cabinets, compounding equipment).
- Prepares medications for dispensing with accuracy in selection, packaging and labeling under pharmacist supervision.
- Transports medications and equipment to patient care areas, including automated dispensing technology.
- Assists in inventory management and stocking of drugs and supplies.
