Job summary

Under supervision, you will handle IV admixtures, sterile products in USP 797, manage electronic dispensing systems, inventory, and packaging, while contributing to patient safety and quality improvement.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of one to two years of college preferred.
• Holds and maintains current Rhode Island Pharmacy Technician licensure.
• Sits for National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) exam within first 6 months of hire, and achieves within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a pharmacist, assists in formulation and preparation of medications.
• Reviews practitioner medication orders and prepares medications for review and dispensing.
• Operates electronic drug dispensing system (EDDS) and manages inventory, including controlled substances.
• Prepares intravenous admixtures and sterile products using aseptic technique in USP 797 environment.
• Delivers medications to clinic, procedural, operating room, and patient care areas.
• Maintains pharmacy records and participates in quality assessment and medication safety initiatives.
