Qualifications

• Education: High school or GED Equivalent or Pharmacy technician associate degree.
• Licensure: Arizona Pharmacy Technician License/Trainee License.
• Certification: PTCB National Technician Certification.
• Experience: 1+ years of previous work experience.

Responsibilities

• Pharmacy Technicians rotate through all work areas of the pharmacy. Prepare medications and supplies for dispensing, including sterile preparations.
• Fill Pyxis machines and run reports as needed.
• Expedite the processing of prescriptions by performing all duties necessary and allowable by policy or law.
• Assist pharmacists with tasks associated with preparation of medications for patients prior to their hospital discharge.
• Communicate with third party providers to determine eligibility and obtain prior authorization.
• Maintain the prescription area in an orderly and sanitary manner.
• Answer the telephone and requests at the counter or window.

Education
