Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to lead technician training, identify process improvements, and support pharmacists with reviewing, compounding, and dispensing medications. All work occurs under pharmacist supervision, with training in IV admixture and automated dispensing.

Role requires NC licensure, two years of experience, and a shift from 2100 to 0700 with 8 on 6 off schedule. Salary offers include incentives and on-site work at Rex facility.

Qualifications

• Two years pharmacy technician experience required.
• Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy required unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
• CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA required unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
• Completion of an academic pharmacy technician training program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Train new employees on job-specific functions and develop materials.
• Lead process-improvement projects and implement solutions.
• Assist pharmacist by reprioritizing daily workflow to maintain patient care.
• Compound and prepare medications under pharmacist supervision.
• Deliver medications to patient areas and manage returns of unused meds.
• Document pharmaceutical activities and ensure data accuracy.
• Triage customer requests for pharmacy services and information.
• Operate automated dispensing technology to supply correct medications.
• Order, receive, and rotate inventory; manage expiration dates.
• Ensure regulatory compliance for storage areas and documentation.
