Job summary

Pardee UNC Health Care in North Carolina is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician II - Inpatient to support the pharmacy team in medication preparation and dispensing under the direction of a pharmacist.

The role requires a High School Diploma, CPhT (or PharmD candidate) and strong math skills, with emphasis on accuracy, safety, and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital setting. This is a full-time, on-site daytime position.

Qualifications

• Must register with the Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
• CPhT certification or enrollment in accredited PharmD program required.
• Strong pharmaceutical mathematics skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Supports daily Pharmacy operations, including pulling medications for dispensing and inventory control.
• Communicates inventory concerns or special needs to Pharmacy Procurement Coordinator.
• Accurately completes controlled substance documentation.
• Repackages medications compliant with local policy.
• Assists nurses/clinical staff with Pyxis questions.
• Sterile compounding of intravenous medications.
• Non-sterile compounding of oral medications.
• Maintains an organized and effective work environment under minimal direction.
• Delivers medications to patient care units in a timely manner.
• Maintain efficient workflow and timely dispensing of patient medications.
• Takes direction from pharmacist staff regarding clinical concerns/questions.
• Assist in training/onboarding new staff.
