Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician II. You will support medication inventory management, preparation and delivery under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

Ideal candidates have prior pharmacy experience and current Iowa Certified Pharmacy Technician registration on file. You will ensure accurate dispensing, inventory control, and policy compliance within the hospital pharmacy setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Active registration with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, required.
• Approved boards: PTCB or NHA.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of pharmacy terminology, pharmacology, and pharmacotherapy.
• Fill, label, and deliver medications throughout the hospital and to off-site locations.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and expiration dates in pharmacy systems.
• Receive, unpack, sort, and restock medications and supplies.
• Triage phone calls and take detailed messages.
• Assist with preparation of emergency kits and carts.
• Prepare sterile and non-sterile medications per USP guidelines.
