Job summary

Mercy Cedar Rapids is seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacy Technician II for an evening shift, with 40 hours weekly. The role focuses on medication inventory management, preparation, and delivery under pharmacist supervision.

Ideal candidates have pharmacy setting experience and active Iowa Certified Pharmacy Technician registration, with strong attention to accuracy and teamwork in a hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Active registration with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners as a Certified Pharmacy Technician is required; PTBC/NHA credentials acceptable.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable for Mercy vehicles.
• Successful completion of the pharmacy technician leadership pathway from technician I to II.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of pharmacy terminology, pharmacology, and pharmacotherapy.
• Fill, label, and deliver medications accurately within the hospital and to off-site locations.
• Maintain inventory counts and expiration dates in pharmacy automation.
• Triage phone calls and provide thorough, accurate messages.
• Prepare sterile and non-sterile medications per USP standards and recipes.
