Job summary

UPMC Presbyterian Campus is seeking an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists, nurses, and healthcare teams in inpatient and OR settings. You will assist in filling orders, preparing medications, and distributing meds across units while maintaining precise controlled-substance records and compliance with regulations.

The role emphasizes accuracy, adherence to HIPAA, OSHA, and PBM requirements, and completion of required training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of accredited pharmacy technician program.
• Six months of pharmacy technician experience.
• Six months experience as a Pharmacy Assistant within the UPMC Health System.
• Enrollment in an undergraduate pharmacy program.

Responsibilities

• Fill medication orders with correct labeling, counting, and stocking practices.
• Distribute medications including cassettes, emergency medication carts and the delivery of controlled substances per policy and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records for controlled substances and ensure storage and dispensing compliance with Federal, State, and Department Regulations.
• Maintain eye wash logs, refrigerator logs, perpetual inventory logs and other required documentation.
