Job summary

Froedtert Health in West Bend, WI is seeking a Pharmacy Intern 2 for an on-site role. You will receive, sort, compound and prepare medication orders under a pharmacist's supervision and may assist in sterile product preparation and training of Pharmacy Intern 1.

Applicants should be enrolled in a Doctor of Pharmacy program and complete a competency checklist within three months of orientation. Wisconsin registration must be obtained within 12 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of hospital pharmacy internship experience preferred.
• Accepted into a Doctor of Pharmacy program at a degree-granting institution.
• Must complete a competency checklist within three months of orientation.

Shift: 4

Shift Details: Weeknights (1700-2100) and assorted weekend shifts (0800-1630 and 1430-2300), Two holidays per year, Every other weekend

Job Summary

Following established policies and procedures, Pharmacy Intern 2 performs technical, distributive, and administrative duties. This individual may receive, sort, compound, process and prepare medication orders under the supervision of a pharmacist. They may prepare sterile products and will assist in the training of Pharmacy Intern 1. As the intern progresses, and demonstrates an increase in ability, the preceptor will grant increased responsibility. Other duties as assigned.

Experience

Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital pharmacy internship program is preferred.

Education

Accepted into a doctor of pharmacy program at a degree granting institution.

Training

Must complete a competency checklist within three months of completing orientation and training sessions.

Special Skills

Ability to communicate effectively with other health care professionals and patients. Ability to prioritize responsibilities in order to optimize patient care and minimize adverse outcomes.

Licensure

Application for Wisconsin registration as a Pharmacy Technician is required by hire date and must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Staff hired into this role prior to 3/31/23 must have applied for Wisconsin registration by 3/31/23 and have until 3/31/24 to obtain registration.
