Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking an Inpatient Pharmacist to provide functional direction and training to pharmacy staff within an inpatient setting. You will consult with patients and medical personnel regarding medication therapy and ensure accurate dispensing, compounding, and distribution of products.

You will review patient records, advise on dosing, safety, and drug interactions, and participate in quality management and education programs to support optimal patient care.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacological principles, biopharmaceuticals, disease states and medical management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to operate pharmacy computer systems and related equipment.
• Ability to generate accurate prescription labels.
• Must pass background check.
• Able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide functional direction and training to Inpatient Pharmacists and pharmacy staff.
• Consult with patients and medical personnel on medication therapy.
• Dispense, compound, procure, store and distribute pharmacy products.
• Provide medication information and dosing advice to medical staff and patients.
• Oversee workflow, prioritize tasks and troubleshoot to ensure high-quality service.
