Job summary

Avera Sacred Heart Hospital is seeking a Pharmacist to ensure safe, effective medication use across patient ages. You will dispense prescriptions, advise providers on therapies, monitor regimens and educate patients to optimize outcomes.

The role requires active licensure, possible Doctorate and BPS certification; you will mentor interns and coordinate with pharmacy staff while upholding regulatory standards and contributing to clinical research and staff development.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers and staff.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and coordinate with technicians and interns.
• Knowledge of pharmacy laws, CMS, Joint Commission and OSHA expectations.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and dispenses medications.
• Advises providers on drug therapies and monitors patient regimens.
• Provides patient education on medication usage and potential adverse effects.
• Mentors students, interns, and technicians; supports workflow in pharmacy.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory policies and participates in quality assurance.
