Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center in Camp Hill, PA is seeking a Part-Time Peer Specialist (0.50 FTE) to support recovery among peers in an inpatient psychiatric setting. The role requires a high school diploma, relevant certifications, and demonstrated lived experience with mental health recovery.

Availability Mondays and Tuesdays is required. Ideal candidates will have CPI/BLS training, Act 31 certification, and a commitment to advocacy and education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Twelve months of full or part-time work or volunteer experience within the last three years.
• PA Act 31 Child Abuse Training Certificate.
• CPI and BLS required prior to orientation completion.
• Peer Specialist Certification or enrolled in training to obtain certification within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• The Peer Specialist utilizes lived experience with mental health recovery to serve as a role model and mentor to peers.
• Exhibits competency in personal recovery and wellness and serves as a consumer advocate and recovery educator in the inpatient psychiatric setting.
• Enhances the recovery culture of the hospital environment.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

PA Act 31 Child Abuse Training Certificate

Peer Specialist Certification or enrolled in training to obtain certification within six (6) months of hire

CPI and BLS required prior to orientation completion
