Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center in Camp Hill, PA is seeking a Part-Time Peer Specialist (0.50 FTE) to support recovery among peers in an inpatient psychiatric setting. The role requires a high school diploma, relevant certifications, and demonstrated lived experience with mental health recovery.

Availability Mondays and Tuesdays is required. Ideal candidates will have CPI/BLS training, Act 31 certification, and a commitment to advocacy and education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Twelve months of full or part-time work or volunteer experience within the last three years.
• PA Act 31 Child Abuse Training Certificate.
• CPI and BLS required prior to orientation completion.
• Peer Specialist Certification or enrolled in training to obtain certification within six months of hire.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Peer Specialist utilizes their lived experience with mental health recovery to serve as a role model and mentor to peers. The Peer Specialist exhibits competency in personal recovery and wellness and serves as a consumer advocate and recovery educator in the inpatient psychiatric setting. The Peer Specialist enhances the recovery culture of the hospital environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• High school diploma or equivalent
• History of maintaining at least twelve (12) months of full or part time work or volunteer experience within the last three years
• PA Act 31 Child Abuse Training Certificate
• CPI and BLS required prior to orientation completion
• Peer Specialist Certification or enrolled in training to obtain certification within six (6) months of hire.
