Job summary

University Health in San Antonio is recruiting an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncologie. The APP will deliver comprehensive, family-centered care to pediatric and adolescent/young adult patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions in the inpatient setting.

The incumbent collaborates with attending physicians, residents, nurses, pharmacists, and the multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage complex conditions, provide

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Current NP/PA licensure in the state of practice.
• Board certification appropriate for pediatric hematology/oncology.
• DEA license or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Perform histories and physicals for pediatric/AYA hematology-oncology patients.
• Develop and evaluate individualized plans of care with the team.
• Manage acute/chronic oncologic and hematologic conditions.
• Prescribe medications and chemotherapy as credentialed.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and document in EMR.
• Provide patient and family education and discharge planning.
• Coordinate inpatient care with multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in rounds, quality initiatives, and protocols.
