Job summary

Harris Health System, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Assistant II to support inpatient nursing units under the supervision of registered nurses.

The PCA II performs delegated patient care activities, ensuring patient safety and quality of care, and works closely with the charge nurse and staff. Required are a High School diploma or GED, CNA/CMA/EMT-B or similar certification, BLS, and two years of related clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED plus technical skills/training appropriate to the specialty area.
• Licenses & Certifications: CNA or CMA or EMT-B; BLS from AHA; Aggression Management cert within 90 days; EKG and/or Phlebotomy validation within 6 months; other certificates as required by unit/service/clinic.
• Work Experience: Two (2) years related clinical experience (experience in nursing program clinical rotations is applicable)
• Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal Communication
• Proficiencies: Personal Computer, MS Word, Typing

Responsibilities

• Accountable for supporting patient care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Works closely with the charge nurse and staff nurses to assure patient care needs are met.
• Performs patient care activities, as delegated, and adheres to patient safety measures.
