Job summary

Curana Health in Overland Park, KS is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for inpatient palliative care. You will lead symptom management, conduct goals-of-care discussions, and coordinate with a hospital team to ensure compassionate, patient-centered care.

The role emphasizes advanced illness support, autonomy in practice, and collaboration with oncology, cardiology, and other services to improve patient comfort and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Must hold NP/PA license in state of operation.
• MS in Nursing or PA Studies.
• Open to new graduates with ER/ICU hospital RN experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary hospital team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct histories, exams, and care plans for inpatients.
• Lead goals-of-care conversations with patients and families.
• Manage advance directives and POLST forms.
• Provide symptom relief using pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic methods.
• Collaborate with hospital teams to ensure patient-centered care.
• Educate staff and families on palliative care principles.
• Maintain accurate medical records with compassionate communication.
• Exercise autonomous decision-making as a trusted resource.
