Allina Health, a not-for-profit health system serving Minnesota and western Wisconsin, seeks an inpatient Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for an 8-hour day shift (M-F) at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. Privileges will be obtained for metro sites to allow floating; occasional call or weekend work may occur.

The role includes comprehensive patient care within a physician/nurse team, with focus on diagnosis, treatment, and education, in inpatient settings across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in NP/PA program required.
• Licensed RN or PA license required upon hire.
• ANCC NP certification or PA licensure required upon hire.
• ACLS/BLS Tier 2 certification within 180 days.
• DEA registration required upon hire.
• Valid driver's license required upon hire; MN/WI residents must obtain license within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical care for patients as part of a physician/nurse team.
• Completes comprehensive patient assessments and determines diagnoses and treatments.
• Orders and interprets diagnostics with attending physician; prescribes medications and therapies.
• Educates patients to manage chronic illness or wellness; refers for specialty care as needed.
• Consults with physicians when patient needs are outside APP scope of practice.
• Promotes team communication and acts as a resource to care staff.
• Works with primary care for program development; liaises with outside agencies as needed.
• Collaborates with hospital staff by consulting and rounding on patients as designated.
