Job summary

UVA Health's 3 South Acute Oncology unit seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver comprehensive care to patients with hematologic malignancies and solid tumors on a 28-bed inpatient unit. You will work to develop clinical expertise while caring for oncology and medical-surgical needs in a dynamic, supportive environment.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, chemotherapy and infusion administration, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and patient education to support families throughout

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• BSN required within 5 years of hire.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Virginia.
• AHA Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care for individuals with complex oncology diagnoses and co-morbidities.
• Administer and monitor advanced infusions, including chemotherapy, blood products, and supportive therapies.
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary care team to implement individualized care plans.
• Provide ongoing symptom management and patient education to support patients and families throughout treatment.
• Engage in a highly interactive team environment that values communication, feedback, and continuous improvement.
• Take on increasing ownership of patient care while building leadership skills within the unit.
