Job summary

UVA Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for 3 South Acute Oncology in Charlottesville. You will deliver comprehensive care to patients with hematologic malignancies and solid tumors on a 28-bed inpatient unit focused on complex, specialty care.

In this role you will administer advanced infusions including chemotherapy, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and provide symptom management and patient education while developing leadership within the unit.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
• BSN required within 5 years of hire.
• 1 year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care for individuals with complex oncology diagnoses and co-morbidities.
• Administer and monitor advanced infusions, including chemotherapy, blood products, and supportive therapies.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary care team to implement individualized care plans.
• Provide ongoing symptom management and patient education to support patients and families throughout treatment.
• Engage in a highly interactive team environment that values communication, feedback, and continuous improvement.
• Take on increasing ownership of patient care while building leadership skills within the unit.
