Job summary

Lake Charles Memorial Health System seeks an Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat inpatients referred for Occupational Therapy. You will prepare reports and communicate patient progress to the care team, and help patients relearn daily living activities with optimal independence.

The role involves direct patient care, collaboration with physicians and therapists, and guidance on adaptive equipment to support recovery and ADL independence.

Qualifications

• BS, MS or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• NBCOT certification is required.
• CPR certification is required.
• Louisiana licensure to practice Occupational Therapy is required.

Responsibilities

• Completes documentation such as evaluations, daily/weekly Progress notes, and discharge summaries per IRF regulations.
• Assesses functional needs and sets patient-specific goals.
• Provides direct patient care and evaluates outcomes; consults with other specialists as needed.
• Provides patient/family with adaptive equipment options.
• Oversees care of assigned patients, care givers, staff, volunteers and students.
• Promotes independence for activities of daily living.
