Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a TH Occupational Therapist II to provide clinical services to our patient population at Stony Brook University Hospital. You will contribute to comprehensive therapy in inpatient and outpatient settings, focusing on ADL, mobility, splinting, and prosthetic training.

Responsibilities include evaluating and planning treatment, collaborating with the care team, and delivering hands-on therapy while maintaining high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• NYS License or eligible; license must be obtained within one year of employment.
• Preferred: experience as licensed OT in acute care.

Responsibilities

• Plans and provides occupational therapy treatment programs for inpatients and outpatients, including ADL and perceptual/cognitive activities.
• Fabricates and modifies patient splints and orthotic devices.
• Performs activities of daily living tasks with patients, including transfers, bed mobility, hygiene, grooming, dressing and feeding.
• Directs and trains patients in use of UE prosthetics and assistive equipment.
• Consults with physicians and other team members on goals and treatment plans.
• All other duties as assigned.
