Job summary

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL, is looking for an experienced APRN to join the inpatient neurology team. You will work with neurologists and the care team to manage acute neurological conditions and stroke care, delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care.

This full‑time role requires 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday with weekend rotation, and offers a comprehensive Advocate Health benefits package.

Qualifications

• Active RN and APRN licenses in Illinois (state of practice).
• Active national board certification in area of clinical practice and populations served.
• Active DEA registration prior to hire.
• If Illinois practice: active Illinois Controlled Substance License prior to hire.
• Active BLS and/or ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by clinical practice prior to or within 6 months of hire.
• Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and determine/alters treatment and management plans appropriate for age, acuity and clinical condition.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies and prescriptions as part of management.
• Collaborate with neurologists, nursing staff, therapists, case management, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
• Provide patient and family education focused on disease management and recovery expectations.
• Document in EMR and ensure compliant coding and billing practices.
• Escalate needs for emergent or specialized care when necessary.
