Inpatient Mobility Technician — Rehab Support

Job summary

Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking a Mobility Technician to support inpatient rehabilitation services. You’ll assist with mobility interventions, coordinate with nurses and therapists, and help ensure patient safety using BMAT-led assessments.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED; or an equivalent combination of related education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Level I - No experience required. Level II - Three years' relevant experience.
• BCLS certification or obtain within first three months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients on assigned unit to identify mobility candidates for interventions.
• Select appropriate equipment and method of transfer based on patient ability and BMAT criteria.
• Perform basic exercise/ROM, bed mobility, ambulation, transfers with lift equipment.
• Monitor physiologic changes during activity and document in the medical record.
• Provide on-site supervision to Level I MTs and assist with staff orientation.
