Job summary

Truman Medical Centers in Kansas City, MO, is seeking a Mental Health Technician for the inpatient Behavioral Health unit. You will support licensed nurses, assist with daily activities, and help maintain a therapeutic, safe environment on a 36-hour weekly schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.

Responsibilities include direct patient care under supervision, clerical tasks, and helping create a calm, healing space.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain BCLS certification within 120 days of hire and keep it current.
• UAP training/competency required or demonstrated through orientation/leadership content.
• Orientation with classroom and clinical training equivalent to UAP regulations.

Responsibilities

• Help patients with daily activities and provide direct care under supervision of the nursing team.
• Maintain a supportive, safe, and positive environment on the unit.
• Perform clerical tasks and other duties in a clinical setting as needed.
• Provide compassionate listening and support to patients.
