Job summary

Truman Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Technician to join the Center for Behavioral Medicine in Kansas City, MO. This full-time night shift role supports inpatient behavioral health patients under licensed nursing staff and helps create a safe, therapeutic environment.

You will assist with daily activities, participate in a range of duties, and meet BCLS and training requirements within the specified timeline. A collaborative team offers growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must obtain BCLS certification within 120 days of hire and maintain it.
• Clearance through the Family Care Registry is required.
• Orientation/training as directed by Leadership, Management, or Educators is required.
• UAP regulations training or equivalent background criteria may apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities and provide direct care under nursing supervision.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for patients.
• Perform a variety of duties from clerical tasks to clinical support as needed.
• Use compassion and interpersonal skills to help patients feel at ease and supported.
