University Health KC is seeking a Mental Health Technician for the Inpatient Behavioral Health unit at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. The role supports licensed nursing staff and helps create a therapeutic space for patients, assisting with daily activities and providing a listening ear.

The position requires strong patient-care instincts, a willingness to work 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, and completion of orientation with UAP-style training. A compassionate, team-focused attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain BCLS certification within 120 days of hire.
• Clearance through the Family Care Registry.
• Completion of orientation and training as directed by leadership.
• UAP regulations or equivalent background criteria.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of nursing staff.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment on the unit.
• Perform clerical and clinical duties as needed.
