Job summary

Dayton Children's is seeking a Mental Health Technician for the Mathile Center for Mental Health and Wellness Department. The position is full‑time with 36 hours per week on 3 shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, serving the inpatient mental health unit.

The MHT works under the RN or LMHC, delivering trauma‑informed direct care and maintaining safety and confidentiality. Responsibilities include safety checks, documentation, daily living activities support, and collaboration with the treatment team.

Qualifications

• Direct care experience with mental health patients preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy in handling patient information.
• Effective collaboration with treatment team and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to mental health patients under supervision.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic milieu with routine safety checks.
• Assist with activities of daily living and documentation.
• Collaborate with the treatment team and unit clerk duties as needed.
• Support a trauma-informed, patient- and family-centered environment.
