Job summary

University Health in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Mental Health Technician for the inpatient Behavioral Health unit. This part-time night role runs 7:00PM–7:30AM, 24 hours per week, supporting licensed nurses and maintaining a therapeutic environment.

You will assist with activities of daily living, help create a safe space, and perform various duties from clerical tasks to clinical support. Minimum requirements include a HS diploma, BCLS within 120 days, and registry clearance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BCLS certification within 120 days of hire and kept current.
• Clearance through the Family Care Registry.
• Orientation and/or training completed within established timeline.
• UAP training background or equivalent criteria met.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily activities and provide direct patient care under supervision.
• Maintain a supportive, safe, and positive environment on the unit.
• Perform clerical and clinical duties as needed; vary by day.
• Use compassion to help patients feel at ease and supported.
