Job summary

Truman Medical Center is seeking a Mental Health Technician for the Inpatient Behavioral Health unit. You will support licensed nursing staff, provide patient care, and help maintain a therapeutic space on the unit.

The role is full-time, night shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) with a 36-hour work week, located at the Center for Behavioral Medicine in Kansas City, MO. A supportive team and opportunities for growth are highlighted in this posting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BCLS certification must be obtained within 120 days of hire and kept current.
• Clearance through the Family Care Registry.
• Orientation/training completed as directed by leadership or educators.
• UAP training criteria or equivalent background requirements listed.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities and provide direct care under nursing supervision.
• Maintain a supportive, safe, and positive environment on the unit.
• Perform clerical tasks and other clinical support duties as assigned.
• Use compassion and skills to help patients feel at ease and supported.
